ADIS advisors understand the difficulties of finding appropriate drug and alcohol treatment and use their knowledge and experience to assist you.

Family Drug Support (FDS)

FDS provides telephone support to families in crisis due to drug and alcohol issues. FDS is staffed by volunteers who have first hand experience of drug dependent family members.

Methadone Advice and Conciliation Service (MACS)

This is a helpline for people;

  • who are opioid dependent and want to know more about State policies and what is available for them, or
  • who are currently on a pharmacotherapy program (treatment using pharmaceutical drugs) or want to be on a program.
  • who want to know more about the system of opiate treatment in NSW.

MACS provides pharmacotherapy information (including methadone and buprenorphine), referrals, advice and a forum for pharmacotherapy concerns. MACS also maintains a central register of complaints and concerns about opiate treatment and providers and ensures NSW Health hears your issues to helps find solutions..

Stimulant Treatment Program (STP)

You can call this helpline any time if you have questions about psychostimulants (amphetamines, methamphetamines, cocaine, and ecstasy) use. STP operates a 24 hour, 7 day a week phone line offering advice, support, referral, and counseling for people concerned about stimulants.

NSW Quitline

For the cost of a local call (except from mobiles), professional Quitline advisors provide encouragement and support to help you quit smoking.

Quitline advisors are trained and experienced and know how tough quitting can be . Your call is confidential and you can talk to a Quitline advisor once or as many times as it is helpful. You can also arrange for a Quitline advisor to call you. This can be effective in helping you quit and stay quit.

A Quiltline advisor is available to take your call seven days a week during the following hours:

Monday to Friday: 7am-10.30pm
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays: 9.00am-5.00pm

For HEALTH Professionals ONLY.

If you are a health professional seeking advice about the diagnosis and treatment of a patient with alcohol or drug issue the DASAS helpline can assist. The DASAS is a free service available in NSW 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The service is funded by NSW Health and managed by St Vincent’s Hospital Alcohol and Drug Service in Sydney.
